Parents and carers of 0-2 year-olds and their pre-school age siblings are invited to join us between 2nd September and 18th December at various locations across the county.
These sessions are part of the Family Hubs Start for Life Initiative by Leicestershire County Council. They aim to provide parents and carers with a better understanding of how to support their child's development through simple and enjoyable activities.
Deborah Taylor, county council cabinet member for children and families, said: "The Start for Life events that are taking place are a result of fantastic feedback that we received from the Baby Fortnight event earlier this year. There are lots of fun and educational activities for families to get stuck into.
"The sessions provide a great opportunity to meet other parents and carers of similarly aged children and for families to get comfortable using our Family Hubs, all of which have opened over the past year."
Start for Life will feature several sessions focusing on creative play, language and communication skills, and sensory experiences.
- 'Let's Get Messy' - a creative session providing fun for children and parents alike whilst also sharing tips on how a messy plan can encourage a child's development
- 'Tip Top Talkers' - offers a unique workshop for parents/carers and children to come together and learn some tips on how to improve language and communication skills
- 'Little Senses' sessions provide fun activities for you and your child to explore their senses and encourage all-round brain development
