Our family hubs are always buzzing with various activities, making each day unique. We recently looked at what you can expect when you arrive at one of our Family Hubs

Who might you see when you arrive ?

Depending on the day there can be a range of different staff in the building. You will always be greeted by a member of staff at reception and they will help you find where you need to go or find who you are there to see.

Often there are a range of 'health' colleagues who use the hubs to run clinics,  such as health visitors or midwives. There may also be clinics that run where you might have a appointment to see someone for things such as your mental health and wellbeing or for financial support.

In some hubs you might see your local community police officers running beat surgeries

There are a range of groups that run in family hubs, these might be youth groups in the evenings, we run SEND groups and sessions for siblings of children with SEND. There are a range of parent support groups around topics such as parenting, behaviour, SEND.

We often have a lot of other professionals and families who use the hubs for meetings or just come to use the office to work from.

What is available in a Family hub?

This depends on which hub you attend. they are all different sizes so that affects what happens in the building. They all have spaces for private conversations and they all have a 'family room' which will look like a  huge lounge or play room and this is where most of our activities for children happens.

We have a lot of volunteers who run our stay and play sessions around the county. These are mostly free or some might ask for a small voluntary donation.
