There are lots of volunteering opportunities across Leicestershire. A great place to start is Voluntary Action Leicestershire (VAL) who are a charity that helps people in local communities find the right role for them.

Leicestershire Country Parks have volunteering opportunities at all major parks across the county. Including Beacon Hill, Market Bosworth, Watermead North and many others

Six volunteer groups work throughout the county on a variety of practical tasks. These include:-

  • hedge laying
  • coppicing
  • tree planting
  • bird box making
  • wildlife surveying
  • pond/river clearing
  • creating paths and boardwalks
  • heathland restoration
  • reedbed management
  • wild flower meadows
